The Los Angeles Swimming Stadium is an art deco piece of California history which was built during the Great Depression just for the Olympic Games hosted by Los Angeles in 1932.

We changed the name of 10th Street to Olympic Blvd. for these Olympic Games.

That first year gold medal history was made when a Japanese swimmer broke the world record for 100 meter freestyle swim.

Although the exterior façade still highlights the buildings roots in art deco design the entire interior was renovated in 2003 and now houses one of LA’s best recreation centers complete with several pools, gyms, basketball courts and meeting rooms.

The only thing more impressive that the building’s history is the incredible amount of free classes and fun the Expo Center offers, especially for kids.
